Babble on last night's episode
What a trainwreck this episode was! Laura, one of my favorite people on the show spent almost the whole thing being unneccesarily bitchy. (You're a mom dear, don't you teach your kids not to start fights and be insulting?) Yes, Kayne's dress was awful, and Yes Vincent's model couldn't walk. But what's done is done, and that wasn't constructive.
Michael...I love Michael. I think he's going to be the big winner of the season. He hasn't created one outfit that I haven't found completely beautiful, and something that I would adore wearing...if I only had the body. And he seems like a total sweetheart to boot. However, that being said....Jeffery should have won this challenge. His dress looked awesome, and looked actually wearable. Personally I think he's a huge dick, and his style is ugly and I'd like to see him go. But in this case his was the best dress and he was robbed.
Poor Alison's dress was a disaster, and I really think that it was a tossup which was worse, her's or Vincent's. But I'm heartbroken to see her go. I think she's got great style (She should have won the dog outfit episode, it was impeccable), it's just that this particular dress was horrible. I think Vincent should have gotten the chop instead. I could have made that derss and I don't sew. He's just completely insane.
And Kayne...ugh, ugly. He was very, very lucky. And I think he was only so lucky because of his past successes. But in his favor he was completely aware of how ugly it was, and was trying his hardest. My only nit to pick with him (or would that be knit to pick?) is when he said "I wish Tim had come in an hour earlier.) C'mon Kayne, you knew the dress was ugly and you had to do something about it. You didn't need Tim to tell you to fix it.
Ok. I think I got it out of my system. Oh Heidi, I hope these next few 'tough' challenges don't make me even more heartbroken over the fate of our designers!

Date: 2006-08-18 09:43 am (UTC)Laura's dress was very Laura. I'm kinda getting sick of saying that right now. I love her. I love her design aesthetic. But I wish she would try something a bit different. Not entirely different, just something. I'd like to see what she could do if she stretched herself a bit.
Vincent's dress was by far the worst, in my opinion. OMG, the painting metaphor was horrible.
Allison's dress wasn't the best and this is her worst showing easily.
I liked Robert's dress. It wasn't the best and so not his best but I liked it's playfulness and I really think his model did brilliant.
Interestingly, I know you hated Kayne's dress, but again, I really liked it. It was odd, but I liked the floweriness. I preferred the longer skirt, even though it was really sucky.
Okay, done.
I hope next week is better. because this was brutal. Worse then the opening challenge. Worse then last year's flower challenge. *sigh*
