Busy busy day yesterday. Everyone ran around like headless chickens, me included. But I cut out on time instead of staying late, much to my boss's consternation. He actually chased me down in the parking lot, but I was gone, man, gone. I went over to the mall and got a haircut. I hate getting my hair cut. Invariably it goes,
Stylist: What product do you use?
Me: Shampoo?
Stylist: You said you want a trim?
Me: Yeah, I'm thinking maybe an inch.
Stylist: Well that's really not a trim, is it.
Stylist: Do you have a flat iron?
Me: A what? I thought that was a building in New York.
And then after being berated for my lack of beauty skills for a good half hour, I walk out looking like I escaped from the set of the Dick Van Dyke show.
I got home just before eight, and found out that my Dad's stopping by tonight and staying at my apartment instead of pushing all the way home to Michigan. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad and I can't wait to see him. But a little more warning would have been nice. As it is I don't have clean sheets or towels, and no time to do it in, since odds are he'll probably beat me home since I have to do a physical inventory check tonight. But I really am looking forward to seeing him, going out to dinner. I'm going to see if I can wrangle two hours off in the morning so we don't have to rush in the morning and can maybe go get breakfast. Wish me luck!

Date: 2005-03-31 07:00 pm (UTC)Unexpected family visits are so cool, and so stressful (more or less stressful, depending on *who's* visiting)!!! I really do hope you get the extra time to spend with your dad. The fact that it's one of your honored parents may hold a little extra water with your Japanese boss. (crosses fingers for luck)
