Wibbly Wobbly Decision Making

Ok, so guys, I need your help deciding something here, because I'm being as indecisive as I ever am. I've finally hit the point where it's time to switch to Blu Ray. I didn't want to do it because I have my nice region-free DVD player to watch Odoru Daisousasen on. But the industry has stopped putting extras on DVD's and I love commentary and making of specials and all that good stuff.
So I looked at Blu Ray players, and then I thought 'well, if I'm gonna get a blu ray player, I might as well get one that plays games, get a PS3.'
But today I thought to myself...there's really not a whole lot I want to play for the PS3. I mean, everything
twigcollins showed me was reaaaaaally pretty. But there's no game currently that makes me want it desperately. (there are a few I wouldn't mind playing surely, but nothing that I yearn for) So should I spend an extra $150 to have the option to play games? Or should I save the money and use it to start up a little library of the Blu Ray discs that I want?

Date: 2010-05-08 06:06 pm (UTC)while Blue Ray players are coming down in price and the PS3 is staying relatively stable, it's still a good deal because of the extra options. You will want to do your research further of course, but I can rec the PS3 highly and you are...for all intents and purposes, a gamer too. I've had mine for four years I think and not a technical issue to be had, plus...whenever I've bought some bootlegged DVDs that my regular DVD player wasn't able to play, the PS3 came to my rescue (thank god too, because that DS9 boxed set my wife picked up was unplayable without the blue ray player!!! SO WORTH IT!)
I vote yes, but I'm really good at spending other people's money. :)
