I got 100/100/93/80. I think I muffed phenomena/phenomenon (I knew one was the plural of the other but just couldn't think at the moment) and the complement/compliment one --I did know the definitions but I was thinking that it could be meant either way in the context in which it was used. And I know that I got faze/phase wrong because faze is not a word I often see in print. It's funny what you learn by reading and by listening. I'm surprised that the test creator did not use irregardless or dove as a verb form of dive. (Which was originally only dived but common use has made it generally accepted.)

Irregardless or inflammable would both have been good ones. I agree ont he listening and reading thing too. I mean, of course I know how to pronounce hors d'oeuvres. But it doesn't keep me from thinking 'whors devohrs' in my head.

The word that brought this home for me was epitome. I had heard it first so when I read it, I knew exactly what it was. However, I havea friend who had only read it so when he mispronounced it I knew immediately how he had first encountered it.
