*sigh*

I got 100/100/100/73. "Advanced" by their ranking, annoying by mine. *grin* I expect that I muffed it on the 'me/I' question and the 'hanged/hung'. The former is always a point of difficulty for me, and the latter I vaguely recall that the correct grammar (if there can be correct grammar for that topic!) always sounded wrong to my ears.

Yes, hanged I got right by going against my instincts. I don't care if it IS 'hanged.' It just sounds wrong and we should allow language shift to get rid of it. I think I either got the 'phenomena/non' or the 'stationary/stationery' one wrong.

Now I want to see what you get!

(Also, when can I lure you to Ohio? I have punch and pie!)

English Genius, apparently. 100/100/100/87. Not as high on that last one as I'd like, probably because I second guessed myself--haven't gone back to look at the answer key 'cause I'm at work. XD But, you know, this is why writers should have good editors. ♥

(I would love to, but I have no idea when I would be able to just yet. I will try to keep you posted on potential future dates! As it is, I'm hoping I haven't done anything suicidal by registering for Otakon this year.)

This was fun. I only missed the while one, because I second-guessed myself.

And I laughed myself silly thinking about "navel travel." ^_^

I know! I was so close to picking c) Both A and B for the Naval/Navel one. (But of course it's navel gazing, which can result in astral travel. LOL)

I got 100/100/93/80. I think I muffed phenomena/phenomenon (I knew one was the plural of the other but just couldn't think at the moment) and the complement/compliment one --I did know the definitions but I was thinking that it could be meant either way in the context in which it was used. And I know that I got faze/phase wrong because faze is not a word I often see in print. It's funny what you learn by reading and by listening. I'm surprised that the test creator did not use irregardless or dove as a verb form of dive. (Which was originally only dived but common use has made it generally accepted.)

Irregardless or inflammable would both have been good ones. I agree ont he listening and reading thing too. I mean, of course I know how to pronounce hors d'oeuvres. But it doesn't keep me from thinking 'whors devohrs' in my head.

The word that brought this home for me was epitome. I had heard it first so when I read it, I knew exactly what it was. However, I havea friend who had only read it so when he mispronounced it I knew immediately how he had first encountered it.
