Just a quick update before I fall off the face of the earth for a week. (Or, you know, go to Kansas, which is sort of the same thing.) The phone conference went as good as can be expected. Our customer, who knew how unprepared I was, helped run interference. They really ARE pleasant to work with! Thanks to everyone who sent a pep talk!

But equal and opposite reactions being what they are, our last shipping guy got fired for failing his drug test...which means we have one temp in the shipping department. And our last Sales Rep is 99% sure he's not going to be there by the time I get back. *le sigh* I haven't hit my 2 year mark yet, but I'm the 5th in senority in the office, and probably in the top 20 in the whole company.

So tomorrow I'm off to Kansas City for a week to hang out with the extended family. Since Mom & Dad are moving back sometime soon, I figure it's probably a good idea to start getting to know the rest of the family a little better.

I was left lunging for the phone this morning to deal with a client as my boss started bawling and ran out of the office... so yeah! Life is mad!
