Olympic Coverage

So I turned on the Olympics. Saw just enough to decide that I wanted to take Shaun White home and feed him hot chocolate. And then I switched to Stargate Atlantis, which had some more-interesting-than-usual cinematography. Well done!

Also, I'm working on a Muppet LJ mood theme. I feel like it's time to give up the blue kitten faces. Here's a preview.

I didn't really see much of the opening because I got too annoyed with Bob Costas talking over everything. Me: "There is someone singing down there! Why are you talking about a former in-line skater?" I miss living close enough to Canada to pick up their coverage.

But Stargate Atlantis was very Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Fun fun.

Manda and I had a discussion about how Shaun is the long lost Weasley American Cousin or SOMETHING. I was sad when I had to leave for work after our amazing Team USA went on parade. *sigh* I'll finish watching the rest of the cermony tomorrow after the 4pm telecast and before the primetime telecast. Note, this schedule, it will be going for the next 17 days.

My first thought was of a character out of the SSX snowboarding video games. But you and Amanda are totally right. That IS who he is.

Winter Olympics are generally my favorites. I think it's because the first game I really watched growing up was Winter, and I imprinted on it like a duckling. And now that I'm on a Due South kick, I'll probably even end up watching curling. *shakes head sadly*

Like I said in my LJ, I prefer Summer Games, even though my first Olympic Memory is of Lillehammer. There's just something about all the water sports that makes me inherently happy.

We are pretty sad sometimes.
