When the Hurlyburly's Done

What a weekend!  Mom had tickets for the Santana concert in Detroit this weekend, so I headed on home. Remember how I said my car was fixed and now I had sweet sweet air condidioning?  I lied.  Or rather was lied to.  But I just had to get home, I'd been looking forward to it so long.  So I drove four hours in 90 degree weather with the heat on.  By the time I got to Detroit I'm not sure which was running hotter, me or the car.   But make it home I did!
Mom and I went shopping early Saturday, and I found a great dress for my cousin's wedding.  The only thing I don't like about it is that it's black, and even if the bridesmaids are all wearing black it just doesn't seem right to me.  (I always figured a sign that MJ's marriage to cowboy guy in Spiderman was doomed was that all her bridesmaids were in black.)  But the dress is pretty enough I don't care.
The Santana concert was great.  Santana was acutally only so-so.  I mean, he was good, he's always good, but I've seen better concerts of his.  He tended to let everyone go on solos that were waaaay too long.  Yes it was techically impressive...but I forgot which song was playing.  What was really good was the opening band Los Lonely Boys.  They rocked!  And it was amazing some of the silly tricks they did too.  Like two of the guys playing the same guitar at the same time.  And then they both played them one handed, holding it up in midair.  And then one of the guys knelt and plucked it like a koto.  And it was all still to the beat of the song.  I need to go buy the CD. 
Sunday was good too, but I wasn't sure my parents were actually going to let me go back to Dayton.  Everytime I made little 'well, I better get going' motions, something came up.  But I really really owe my Dad.  Since he's not working on any contracts right now he's taking my car into the shop up in Detroit, and I drove his car back to Dayton.  It was really a lifesaver since I spent an hour or so in stop-n-go bumper to bumper traffic.  I never would have made it in the Neon.  Love my parents!!!
