So, I leave for Japan first thing Thursday morning, so if there is something I must get for you, it's last call! (I will do my best, but I don't know how much geek shopping I will actually get to do. I'll actually be working the weekdays I'm there, and my Japanese coworker has told his sister to show me the town on Saturday and maybe Sunday) But I am sure I can pick up things like candy, cds and manga. So let me know!

In other news, I like the new Doctor Who. Matt Smith is basically pretending to be Tennant, but I can live with that. There seems to be plenty of good humor and action. Amy pond locking the Doctor's tie in someone's car was very clever.

I really loved 'How to Train Your Dragon.' The animators did a great job with eyes and facial expressions. And you know I love a smart, engineering hero.

Dad ended up in the hospital yesterday, but it wasn't a big deal. He's been diagnosed with "benign paroxysmal positional vertigo" which basically means that he'll get vertigo and there's not much to do about it. But it's not debilitating and doesn't last long. I think the fuss from the family made him more nauseous than the vertigo.

OMG I'M GOING TO JAPAN~!

I am going to be ALL OVER the kit kats. I asked my coworker to bring me back weird candy, like lemon kitkats once, and he brought me back assorted hard candies. So disappointing! But I'm sure I can find some odd stuff to bring back and horrify my redneck coworkers.

A friend of mine just got back from Japan, and she said they have a ton of flavors right in the airport (I guess they've figured out how much foreigners love them...). If you like lemon, try the ginger ale ones, they taste more like lemon than ginger ale (so good!). I also really like raspberry passion fruit (dark chocolate with fruity filling) and sakura matcha.

(Speaking of horrifying coworkers, my friend brought back a couple good kinds of candy and then mixed them up with those awful dried umeboshi things. So cruel. So hilarious.)

Hahaha! That's hilarious. That's almost as bad as the ALT I knew in Japan that brought her students licorice as an omiyage. 'who wants candy?' 'ok, who wants to go get a drink of water to wash out the horrible taste?'
