Ok, so today was going pretty well. I even found out that I got a pretty generous raise that will kick in in January. Too bad they're making me straight salaried. Goodbye overtime pay!! But it should be more after taxes than I usually make when I do a lot of overtime. So that's good. It should take some of the bite out of my car payments. The no overtime thing pretty much blows.
Then I got home and found out that my apartment flooded. I knew that the apartment beside mine was vacant, but I didn't know that the one above it was vacant too. Skipped town it looks like. And, since people that skip town are so considerate, they left their sliding glass door open. So the pipes froze. The water went all into the apartment underneath it, and then started to get into mine. (>o<) So I spent most of tonight dealing with a plummer and maintenance guy sucking all the water out. Or at least, most of it. They fixed the pipes in the upstairs apartment, but they couldn't suck out the water, because the electricity there was cut off. So my floors are still a little squishy. But luckily the water didn't get far enough to damage any of my furniture. For once I'm glad I DON'T have a dining room set.
Ah well. Anyway, to distract myself from all that I thought I might show you all the present I got myself for finishing Nanowrimo. Made possible by a pretty big bonus at work.
