More Teacher Drivel
Jun. 25th, 2004 02:45 pmIt is hot and icky and I think the rainy season finally hit. Blargh. My feelings are divided because I'm really really going to miss Japan in about a month.....but my parnents house has AIR CONDITIONING. Granted I have that here too, but only in the living room. Which still leaves the problem of sleeping in the heat.
I think the 3rd year boys are trying to convince me to stay. Today they kept praising my Japanese skills, or how well I explained something immediately followed by "You should stay in Japan forever." It is sweet and guilt inducing. But I know that they'll like the next ALT just as much. I'm wondering if maybe I can manage to come back for a visit next spring and see them graduate.
And I was so proud of Nagami-kun! They've been learning "I have _____for ___" and the like lately. Like "I have lived in Mito for two years." And without really meaning to use it I asked him, "How long have you had that earring!" When I noticed he had one. And he answered in a complete sentence! It warmed the cookies of my heart. I want to mention it to the teacher, but I'm not sure he's allowed to wear the earring and I don't want to get him in trouble if no one else noticed.
In non teachery ramblings...I've seen a bunch of Stargate icons that use quotes from Eddie Izzard. And I'm amazed at the fact that there's no "But I was dead at the time!" or any relating to going to the moon, with Steve or otherwise. Too easy you think?
