I had my first yoga class last night. I had signed up for a yoga/pilates class, but that one was canceled, so I shifted over to the plain yoga one. That's ok, because I was sure I would enjoy this one too, and I totally did. There were only three other people in the class, two of them little old ladies. But I think even if I had been surrounded by beautiful rubber people I would have done ok for myself. The class was really well run, and just the right difficulty level, I could do a decent job of almost all exercises, but I had to work for it.
I'm already looking forward to the next class. I'll have to go out and get a yoga mat!

Date: 2009-09-16 12:24 pm (UTC)Just to forewarn, but kitty paws seem really attracted to yoga mats. Dunno how your darling will take to it, but when I first got Wii Fit, it was like this...
Me: *doing yoga poses* ... *puts foot back*
Cali: *is bumped*
Me: Gah!
Cali: *looks up with disapproving!ears!*
Me: What? This is my yoga mat, young lady.
Cali: *gets up, walks in a circle, settles back down on mat*
Me: ... *winds up adding "Lifting of Cat" to new yoga poses, as is done repeatedly over the course of the next ten minutes*
She'd eventually get the hint, and she'd never dig her claws in, and I can't exactly blame her for loving the sproingyness because that's why I got the darn thing, after all--protect my feet from hitting the hardwood floor all the time--but... Lifting of Cat! So many times!

The only time I panic with the wii is when I'm getting weighed and I'm like 'No! Don't stand on it with me! Off! Off!'
