I've been reading 'A History of The World in Six Glasses' which I've been wanting to get my hands on for a long time. So far I've been reading about beer and wine, and how each was considered to be a gift from the gods for mankind by various civilizations.

But they're totally wrong.

It's Bacon.

God I love Bacon.

You know what the world needs? ALCOHOLIC BACON. Seriously, bacon that gets you schnockered. I mean, who wouldn't prefer bacon-breath over tequila-breath? And it'd add a whole new dimension to BLTs...

But the alcohol would all cook off when you, uh, cook it, wouldn't it? Though I bet bacon cooked in some sort of alcohol would be good too.

...now I either want more bacon, or some alcohol.

Yes....I thought they were weird. They are not my favorite way to enjoy bacon.

XD Fair enough. We've managed to get a number of our friends to try - didn't know if the others had managed to get you to try during your visit or not.

I admit I can understand the appeal of the combination, but I think I prefer them most separately, too.

I will say that it beats the 'absinthe' chocolate I got. Though the Brandy Chocolate sticks from the Japanese store are delectable.

Salty and sweet together is really good, but the bacon bar at least was just odd. I've seen a recipe for chocolate chip bacon cookies, that might actually work better. But would probably be a bad idea. Like Scotch Eggs.
