Ok, so just because I'm (extremely) wary of the new Indiana Jones movie doesn't mean I'm not loving the hell out of all the nostalgia/merchandising. I mean, you know I'm going to kill to get my hands on one of these. And I gave in and got this already. (Yes, I know it's overpriced and all, but...but...this is the very foundation of my geekishness.)

And they've been playing a the trilogy a lot lately, which makes me dig out my DVDs when I miss one.


Raiders is a pitch perfect movie. Not a beat is missed. Take this scene for instance...

This is one of the most flawless action sequences ever put to film. It's textbook on how to escalate.
1. Indy fights normal guy with wrench.
2. Subsitute MUCH bigger guy.
3. Rotate the Plane
4. Lock Girl inside plane. (note, girl needs to be rescued, but is not a Damsel. This is evidenced by her laying waste to everything in sight)
5. Add gasoline
6. On Fire!

And then you launch from that to one of the best chases in movie history! It's love.
