Resolutions
Jan. 2nd, 2007 09:58 amWell my apartment is all clean now after my impromptu New Year's bash. It had looked like the remains of a real bacchanal, what with the empty wine bottles and glasses scattered all over. Of course, those bottles were all actually filled with things like 'non-alcoholic sparkling pear juice' and 'non-alcoholic sparkling apple cider' and such. There is surely some kind of boom happening, since almost all of my Dayton friends are pregnant. The more they tell me about it, the more I resolve to adopt some day.
Speaking of resolutions...I'm tempted to steal
twigcollins's 07 resolution...because everyone's resolution really does boil down to 'Suck Less, Rock More,' but I will have to try and not plagarize, though I won't even try to be original.
I resolve to get serious about my writing. Work is the suckage, but I don't think that will change even if I had a different job. It's time to get going on the Penny Rewrite and research for Victorian Hong Kong story. I've joined a new critique group, so I'll HAVE to keep writing. And I bought a bunch of research books and have a binder for photocopies and notes all sectioned off into 'shakespeare' 'victorian' 'hong kong' 'police' and more. Of course, right now the only note in it is that an eyepatch over a good eye means it has instant night vision, which I learned from the Mythbusters marathon last night.
I resolve to bitch less.
I resolve to cook more. I have to keep reminding myself that it doesn't REALLY take that much time to do. And it would be good to not eat so much soup for lunch. Just because I am the only person to eat it, does NOT mean it's a waste of time. Right?
I resolve to finish FFXII. This will not be a hardship.
I resolve to post more on LJ, even though I may not be as witty as
thorne_scratch or others.
