Cute Japanese Phrases: 1. Hanyaaaan - ok, so I've never actually heard it before, but it's CCS's cutest. 2. Kinketsubyo - Anemia is HINketsubyo, so you change the Hin, to money's Kin, and you get 'broke.' 3. -nchai endings instead of -nasai - tabenchai! It's the accent where I lived. 4. Buhi buhi - my boss always ends his e-mail this way. Oink Oink. 5. Natsukashii - providing it is said by a small child, who shouldn't be nostalgic about anything yet.
Anime Characters: 1. Yankumi from Gokusen - So Badass 2. Sakura from CCS - Naturally 3. Saitou from Ruruoni Kenshin - Likewise Badass 4. Kaitou Kid from Magic Kaito & Detective Conan - I'm a sucker for Kaitou 5. Hm...how about Pazu from Castle in the Sky Laputa? Everyone should have their own Pazu.
I'm feeling a bit homesick, so what do you miss most about Japan? (If this is too broad, feel free to separate into categories, like favorite foods or favorite TV shows or whatever.)
Ooh, good ones. 1. I miss my favorite resturaunts. The little Italian-ish cafe with ぺスカトレ. The parfait at the Gusto Burger. The resturaunt next to the You & Me town with the awesome kimchi steak. 2. I miss Trivia! 3. I miss my students like crazy. 4. I miss the nice travel conviniences, like the takkyubin. Or that when you drive on the highway all the rest stops are accessable from both sides of the highway (makes a good turn-around spot)and have resturaunts and gift shops. 5. I really miss how pretty the inaka was, and the sense of community they had in Mito.
THis is Anne T from Farmington HS (yet I know, Anne with an E). How is it going? I can't believe I finally found you. Things are going well for Joe and I in the Boston area. We really should catch up sometime soon.
