Gogai Gogai
Mar. 14th, 2005 08:43 pmYikes, I haven't lj-ed in awhile! And so much has happened.
March has pretty much been a kick in the ego in a lot of ways. This guy came back from Japan and now I have no computer/phone/desk again. Which is kind of funny considering I'm basically the customer complaint department. I'm allowed to check my company e-mail basically when the Japanese guy is at lunch or in a meeting. I have a feeling I will never switch over to Office Hours as was originally promised. (Not that I have a problem with this...I'd MUCH rather get out at 3:30...well, in theory) And one of our customers I think thinks I'm a mindless idiot, which grates on my nerves because half of the problem was his fault and the other half was me following my bosses' orders. Well, at least I've been busy.
But if my worklife kind of sucks, my personal life's been doing great. Since I've been racking up the overtime I felt comfortable enough to finally upgrade from my ailing laptop. I have a happy new Desktop with all sorts of bells and whistles for a really great price. It still doesn't have a good name, because pretty much all I can think of is Daniel, and that seems to doom the computer to all sorts of problems.
My bookclub had another meeting, and this one was just as much fun. Turns out that the next meeting will be on my birthday. The group leader promised to make sure that there would be some of the cafe's famous chocolate cake next time so we can celebrate. On Friday I was going to go back to the cafe to go to a fund-raising wine tasting / drag queen show, but I couldn't get off of work in time. But when I got home there was a message on my answering machine from another lady from the book club asking if I'd like to come over to her house, meet her friends and play board games and eat Chinese. I'm making friends!
Then Saturday I went to a rubber stamping swap thing that was kind of cool, if not quite what I expected. I was pretty let down at first, but it perked up at the end and I'm glad I went.
So yeah, that's my news in a nutshell.

Date: 2005-03-15 03:15 am (UTC)Ne, I am slowly making your lj icons famous around here. Many friends have giggled over "I was DEAD at the time!" and "CSI: Middle-Earth". (None of them have actually started using them, though, otherwise I'd have to bash them over the heads to make sure they credited you and so forth. But I thought you might like to know that they're being admired.)

Date: 2005-03-15 10:18 am (UTC)I'm agog as to how it could be unexpected rubber stamping. I mean, it's rubber stamping. . . it's either going to be stamping things on to paper with rubber stamps, or stamp-cutting patterns out of rubber bondage gear.
Either Or.
