kaitouWell, I survived the afternoon without suggesting that the students take naps and try to dream in English instead of actually teaching them. But it was tempting. Luckily the 5th graders were awesome, which helped counter the terrors that are the 1st and 2nd graders. (Honestly, the itty bittys are my favorite classes at the other schools, but at this one they're utterly undisciplined.) Got them down to saying their phonetic alphabet in 8.72 seconds. Only .01 seconds different from the 6th graders. So I guess we can call today a success, even if I DID forget to take my non-burnable trash out, which means I have to wait another whole month to do it.
They put up a convinience store in my town. I can't believe it. I really didn't think our town was big enough to support it. And even weirder is the fact that I didn't even notice it being built. NOT AT ALL. One day I was driving home and there was a gas station...the next I was driving home and there was a gas station and a Poplar. Too Freaky. It even has a new smell...like a car.
