kaitouIt's only Thursday evening, but I'm definately celebrating the weekend. Loooong week. But only one class tomorrow. One class where i can sit back and do practically nothing even. Not to make it sound like the week has been bad. Actually pretty good. Just long. This is the last week of the term for my elementary schools, so last English class. So, time to do a fun review and make it special and happier than normal even. This means lots of work.

Today I had to come up with a special one for my 5th and 6th graders at Higashi Sendo elementary. I've already done 'pass the parcel' with them, so I decided to try something else. I'm quite fond of laying all the year's flashcards out on the floor, making some oversized dice and....voila, board game! Only the Candy Land style just isn't challenging enough. So I looked up the rules to Sorry on the internet and turned the music room into a giant game of Sorry.
And may I say two things. One......an hour is not long enough to play a game of sorry. Only had one group get even one piece anywhere close to their goal. Two......boy these kids are vindictive. Had one team snatch a pawn only spaces away from home and send it all back to start. They had a good ol' time.
