1. So last night I picked up some fast food for dinner. After I placed my order there was still a line to get to the window, so I turned my audiobook back on. I'm listening to Michael Pollan's 'The Botany of Desire' which is interesting, even if he takes his metaphors to ludicrous heights. So as I pulled up to the window it was still playing. The chapter I'm on is all about Marijuana. You'd think I would learn!

2. I knit a baby thing over Thanksgiving that I meant for [profile] vengeful_god's upcoming kids, but I decided that I didn't get the color right. (I'd be more specific, but it's a surprise Dave, so no peeking) So I yesterday I gave it to a coworker that has a new granddaughter. He loved it, and it turned out that the pattern even had special meaning to him. This morning I even got a hug. I feel all warm and fuzzy now, and that's not just the wool talking.

3. My dad basically lives on the road for his job, so he racks up the hotel reward points. Marriot lets you turn them in for stuff, not just free stays. He mentioned to Mom a long time ago that they ought to turn in his points for a new TV. Their old TV died, and instead of getting a new one, they moved the one from their bedroom down. It's...maybe 19 inches? And it's starting to die too. But for the longest time Mom would not decide on a TV. Dad declared that he wasn't going to take the blame for the wrong one and did nothing. And it stayed that way for over a year.

But money's tight this winter, so Mom said maybe cashing in some points would be their Christmas to each other. I made it my mission this Thanksgiving to make her decide. We looked up Dad's points and he had OVER ONE MILLION ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND POINTS. He had enough points to get three fifty inch Plasma TVs. Holy Crow.

So they're getting all hooked up now, even getting as PS3. And now Mom wants me to come home and set them up, even though I know nothing about them, as I don't have a HDTV. Though I said if they wanted to trade in some points to get me a TV to practice with, I wouldn't say no. XD

4. This is similar to one of my favorite psych experiments ever. Only the one I saw the sujbects held either a hot cup of coffee or a cold soda for a few moments, and it was still enough to make them judge a stranger differently after an extended interview.

5. I feel like there should be a number five. But I can't think of anything.
