Orange You Glad?
Oct. 12th, 2005 10:21 amLast night was my bookclub which is always fun. October was Horror month, but absolutely no one read a horror book. I was the closest with "Battle Royale" except that I actually haven't had time to read it yet (too busy re-reading The Grand Sophy, ya know). Someone brought a murder mystery (the kind with a tea-pot on the cover and recipes in the back) and the group leader brought a 'horror-ible' book. But we had fun, and I pimped Nanowrimo at them all and even brought a flyer to hang up in the cafe.
But then the weirdest thing happened to me on the way home. I was driving in the dark past a long line of semis when suddenly I smelled Oranges. Not like real oranges, but like orange scented things. I thought maybe the smell was coming from a truck, but after I passed them, the smell continued.
I thought maybe there was a random Orange Cleaning Solution truck accident on the road earlier, but no signs of it. Then, because I've been reading way too much hurt/comfort fanfic, my second thought was that smelling things that aren't there was a symptom of brain cancer.
Then I noticed that it wasn't actually drizzling outside like I thought, the weather was fine, but I still had moisture on my winshield. I rolled down my window and touched it...and sure enough it was orange scented.
I don't think it was orange juice. But it could be some kind of oil, or cleaning liquid I'm thinking. But I still have no idea how it got on my car as I'm driving down a highway at 70mph.
