Jul. 27th, 2004 10:10 amI've got about a week left in Mito now. I'll be heading out next Wednesday to stay with the wonderful Melf42 for another 2 days before I'm off to China. I managed to get half the house clean yesterday, and most of my laundry done to boot. Now I just have to conquer the kitchen and I'll be ready for my inspection tomorrow.
Of course, I have a drinking party starting around 3 today. Bowling and drinking and karaoke with my favoritist teachers in the whole wide world. Here's hoping none of them hit on me.
I've been taking back all my old games and DVD's and manga I don't want to keep and selling them to the Used bookstore and Video store. I always find it depressing to sell things back. You NEVER get an iota of what you paid for them in the first place. I sold back over 60 volumes of manga and only got $30.
I'm betting it works the same way with souls. Stories always have people making great deals with the devil in excange for their souls. You know, World Domination, Wealth Beyond all Belief and all that Jazz. I bet it's not that way at all. I bet you sell your soul to the devil and you get a buck fifty...or maybe instead of the world, you just get to rule over Boise Idaho.
Guy: But...but...it's hardly even used! It's like new!
Devil: That's not my problem, now is it.
Guy: I want dancing girls, Gold and Jewels, an Empire!
Devil: Look, here's a five year old in a Tutu, Jewel's new CD and a game of Risk, it's the best I can do.
