I went home to visit my Mom this weekend, and as I drove around a bend in the highway I saw all of these balloons. It was a good omen for a good weekend.

We went and saw Harry Potter, and Julie & Julia, both of which were good movies. HP was a solid HP movie, though the shiny is starting to wear off for me. And J&J cannot fail to give you a happy. Unless you hate butter or something.

We also ventured into the wilds of the mall and picked out new glasses frames for my mom, and I went to Lush for the first time and got bar of solid shampoo. I tried it out this morning and it worked pretty well. It will be a good thing to have when I fly to Kansas City for Labor Day weekend. I also picked up some bamboo needles for knitting socks on, which should be easier to take on the plane.

Seriously I would take my chances with plastic needles over bamboo if I had to face them in a very odd bar fight (actually, given the local Stitch-n-Bitch chapters, maybe a not-so-odd bar fight).

XD That's the whole point! They're soft bamboo! No-sir-mr-airport-security-sir, no way these are a threat.

Yeah but the whole danger of knitting needles is because they're so slim they slip through things quite easily. Like between the ribs and through the muscles over the human heart. Of, in a less dramatic way, through the eye of your neighbour.

...a... a bar of shampoo? *goes to look this up, because of hair, practically always have to take too much shampoo with, which always means no simple carry-on, and d00d*
