I can now knit and purl!

Forgive the angle & the quality, I'm trying out my new webcam that came with the laptop. I'm thinking my Nano present to myself this year might be a new camera.

I'm going to try blocking it tonight, even it out a bit. The whole thing narrowed slightly once I got better at it, and I think blocking it will fix that. Next step is to learn how to increase, so I'll be making a shawl. Which means I need to get to another yarn store to get more yarn and needles.

I have to go on a road trip next Friday. I have yarn for one more project, but I might finish that before then!! (it's a repeat of the first scarf, only with the right kinds of yarn, which I didn't have the first time)
So I ordered more yarn online last night to learn how to make triangles, hopefully it will get here in time.

Triangles?! I am impressed. Then again, I am also woefully ignorant. ^_^

(I also just noticed the little warrior looking over your shoulder in the picture. Awesome.)

Yeah, next step is to learn how to 'increase' so I can make things other than rectangles. Then 'decreasing.' I don't particularly want a shawl, or a purse (the decreasing project) but I think it's good to make them just so I learn that trick when it's the only trick I need to learn and not try to figure out how to increase and decrease plus other stuff when making a sweater.

Hee! You noticed my lamp! It was a birthday present from my parents on year. They found a plaster of paris 'terracotta warrior' one year and decided that I had to have it, and that it had to be a lamp.

The little squares and the awesome coloration and all? Wonderful! I do hope the blocking helps it even out a bit and doesn't stretch it too much, beyond what you wanted... I will cross my fingers!

I measured it just now, while it's all pinned out on towels on the floor....it went from being 46 inches long to 55 inches long. It's still good scarf length, but...holey moley!

Oh, how cute! I really like those colors. Lovely basket stitch.

I've been meaning for ages to ask you--can I friend you?

Of course! And likewise I hope?

Thanks about the scarf. It's very warm too, it went on it's first test drive this morning.
