I finally signed up for Netflix, and did a little bit of rating....Yes, I like anime....Yes, I'd like to rent 'The Scarlet Pimpernel.' and before I knew it the rec section wisely nodded and said to me. "You, my friend, like Judi Dench movies. Here, have a 100."

And it's true, I do have a weakness for her (She's an excellent M for one thing). But I must say that one of my favorite things she's done lately is the 'Film Four' commercial where she is a singing lobster.

ETA: Oh hai, Flidget. Netflix has just added 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' for things I will like. Currently it's the #1 rec for me.

I confess, I have watched ALL of 'As time goes by' and loved every sappy elderly-romance minute of it.

Judy dench is the bomb. She'll even get me to watch that new 'pride and prejudice' movie that came out, even though I am a died in the wool 'A&E miniseries version' fan.

I have the Kiera one. Guy at work insisted on giving me a bootleg. (I have a lot of bootleg movies without EVER ONCE asking for one, or trying to download one) But I still haven't watched it yet. I should, because Dame Judi was made to play Lady Catherine.

But I maintain that no one could be a better Mrs. Bennet than the lady who did in the miniseries. The only person who could touch that performance would be Nathan Lane.

Oh, btw, wikipedia says you're right about the gei in Ben-Hur. It's good to know that slash fanfic & yaoi have not totally warped my mind to see things that aren't there.

Ah, Bollywood. My new roommate is a big fan and has been educating me in the fundamentals including "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai." And I am squarely with you on the Judi Dench thing. Said roommate insists that it had to have been a person with balls of steel that first approached her about being in "Chronicles of Riddick."

Man, the little girl in KKHH scarred me for life.

I highly reccomend Dhoom2, which I watched on the plane back from London last year. Flidget will back me up on that one.

I liked Krrish, which I thought was a hilarious take on Superhero movies. But Flidget's sister has threatened to punch me in the face for reccomending it, so maybe it's not for everyone.
