While I was up in Michigan for Christmas my dad gave a book called "Now, Find Your Strengths." It's one of those self help/business/soft science books. And Dad usually has excellent taste in those, so I dug right in. It's really an interesting read. It's about capitalizing on your strengths instead of trying to get better at the things you suck at. And there's a little test you get to take since you bought the book and they tell you what your strengths are.

This is where the book lost me. I don't know, maybe it was Dad's hype plus the interesting direction the book was going in, but I was really excited to find out what kind of 'strengths' I have.

According to them my strength is 'Input' where you are good at gathering knowledge on all kinds of things. Well....DUH. I knew that already. I have the brain of an ADD Magpie. Last month I needed to know everything about tea, this month it's the battle of the Somme, next month it'll be soap making. How this translates into a career skill I'm not sure...unless you're Ken Jennings anyway.

So far I've found that I'm really good at:

Gathering useless knowledge
Making things out of construction paper
Telling people about cool things
Organization / Analysis
Analyzing Shakespeare

So I think what my perfect job would be is...Making things out of construction paper to make organized presentations about Shakespeare and other interesting things.
