After finishing Deathly Hallows, I decided to go back and read through the books again to see where all the foreshadowing was that I didn't notice. (Say what you will about JK Rowling's prose, but she is one hell of a plotter) And though I haven't touched it in years, I'm loving Philosophers/Sorcerers Stone all over again.
Last night I got to the bit where Ron, Harry and Hermione face off against the troll and become friends, and it made me feel SO warm and squishy inside. It's nice to go back to where everything is happy and shiny and, to steal from Hermione, the worst threat is getting expelled.
I wonder if Chocolate Frog Card portraits work like other Wizarding Portraits. I mean, Dumbledore wandered out of his frame of the card. If so...best spying method ever. Except for the fact that really, you could probably only spy against children, and you probably wouldn't get to see much because you'd be in a rubberbanded pack in the bottom of a school trunk or something. But still, it would be kind of awesome.
I know that they talked about how Harry set the snake on Dudley because he was a Parselmouth in Prisoner of Azkaban. But it didn't really hit me until now that he was probably speaking Parseltongue at the time. So it makes sense that Dudley's friend was kind of freaked.
Hermione totally rocks my world.
I am staying spoiler free, but I have to say that after Book 7, I have a new appreciation for all the Snape stuff. *hugs Snape*
Quidditch! I still want to play quidditch so bad, even though I suck at all sports. I remain convinced that if anything is going to bring about the invention of a personal flying-machine of some type, it will happen because enough Geeks want to play quidditch.

Date: 2007-07-25 01:35 pm (UTC)I now want to re-read the books just so I can squee at Snape. That said, I'm still not sure I have the strength to re-read book 5. I don't care how well the series wrapped up, that was a bad book, yo.
