Work Work Work
May. 26th, 2006 02:20 pmThis is just work drivel, so feel free to skip it...
ISO, in my mind, is basically "10,000 Rules to Run Your Business." It's actually pretty neat. They give you everything you need right up front. They have Quality rules (9000) Environmental (1400) and so on and so forth. And you have to be registered by a 3rd party auditor to pretty much work with any other company, at least in the auto industry. And every so often the registrar will come and check up on you to see how you're doing. It's a pretty big deal. If we were to lose registration, we'd lose all of our business.
And somehow I ended up in charge of all of it. They said, "Well, you were AT the last audit." And everything was going pretty well. I was getting all our ducks in a row so that we could just pop through all of the answers...BAM BAM BAM! Only...I discovered that we lost all of our internal audits. ALL of them. And I had a week to do it in. When it took 2 months the first go around.
But!! I did it! We nailed that audit, and didn't even have any problems. And now I'm pretty much in charge of this officially. I'm working on them to make it really official official...give me the title, training, authority, and hopefully a little something extra in the paycheck. Wish me luck!! I'm really proud of how hard I worked and how well it paid off.
