I have internet! And TV! And a phone line! All is right with the world. Now cross your fingers and hope I get paid before the bills come due. My new apartment is very nice. The two managers don't seem to take any crap, and keep the place looking very nice. I had two quick things that needed fixing, and they had someone come out within a few hours to give me an oven rack. I still don't have a door on my mailbox (apparently that takes outside contracting) so don't send me anything, but the rest is very good.

I'm about 3 miles from my new job, which is nice. Though I wish I lived a little closer to where the action is, which seems to be the south part of Dayton (I'm over in the northwest). I pretty much landed in an entire chicken fried city, I think. Bob Evans to the right of me, Bob Evans to the left of me. And every kind of Mart you can imagine, from K to Wall. I got nervous signing the lease when I asked about a good bookstore, and they said, "Well, Wallmart has a good selection." But never fear, I found both the mall and the Borders. And even better, the Walden Books in the Mall carried the Georgette Heyer book [livejournal.com profile] flidgetjerome reccommended but I couldn't buy. Also right down the street is a place called Pippin's Market. Which would fill me with geeky delight, if it didn't look so iffy.

Anyway, my boxes are unpacked, electronics hooked up, pottery arranged artfully, and I am all set to go. All I have left to do is get some Renters Insurance, and make some friends. Anyone out there live near Dayton?
