Shopping Insanity
Nov. 27th, 2004 10:14 amYesterday wasn't as bad as I was afraid of. Mom and Dad and I got up painfully early to run down to Circut City to buy a TV set. It happened so fast I'm still not sure just what I bought. I hope this will not come back and bite me in the ass. But I suppose I can return it if it does. My poor parents went off to Mom's work to borrow one of the vans while I stood in line, since we didn't think the TV would fit in the back of the car. They got there only to discover that the small van was full of carpeting that someone ELSE was picking up on the side. And then they cleaned all the snow off the big van. Which is a BIG van. Very tall. And found out that it was full to the brim with plywood. So they drove back, and I was still in line (over an hour in line) but they let us come and pick it up later. We'll probably do that today.
We went next door to Michael's and mom picked up some funky scrapbooking scissors.
twigcollins, remember the stamp stamps Mom made and said if she had the right scissors she could cut out the little postage stamp nobbles? Well, now she can. And has. A lot.
Then we went off and looked at three different mattress stores, and two dinette set stores. Got myself a queen size mattress on the same theory that I bought a four door car. Maybe someone will come for a ride. Hopefully it'll prove more successful than the Subaru Vivio. And the queen was only $20 more than the full. I fell in love with a dinette set that I can't afford. (It's the high table one down below. I figure it makes for extra counter space, and the taller chairs are still short enough that I don't have to climb into them like most bar stools) I hope it'll still be around once I can.
We went home for awhile, and parents went off to a wedding. I stayed home and finished
flidgetjerome's, and
exgentlemen's Christmas Cards and got a good start on
velithya's.
Then this morning I went ahead and ordered a comforter and sheets set from Penny's. They're on a severe sale. I just need to buy an iron and ironing board and I think I'll have enough to tide me over till I get a paycheck, though I wish I had a coffee table.
