What Did I Miss??

So Tumblr swept me away, for better or worse (let's face it, it was probably worse. It was highly entertaining, but so easy to be passive and not create any kind of content or think myself, or feed back to anyone doing anything). But it's clearly time to leave that blue hellhole. I don't know how the fandom landscape will look when the dust has settled.
So let me (re)introduce myself. On Tumblr and Pillowfort I am KaitouKitty. Here and on AO3 I am just plain Kaitou. Are there other places I need to stake some ground? I do have an Insta and a Twitter... but they're for my Brickspace Non Fandom life and I don't want to connect them.
My current fandoms are: The Good Place, Buzzfeed Unsolved, Aggretsuko, and I can't manage to break free of Teen Wolf no matter how hard I try. I love the Marvel U, but it went in directions that I'm not particularly interested in for fic & art. I will probably enjoy Venom when I get to see it. I adore food shows like The Great British Bake Off, and Somebody Feed Phil, and Worth It. I don't have cable TV and I end up watching a lot of Youtube - from Sci Show to Brave Wilderness to many Beauty Vloggers.
I knit and bake, do yoga, and have started jogging in the last year.
So uh, Long time no see?

Date: 2018-12-07 04:18 am (UTC)I haven't investigated pillowfort yet, from what I hear it's very new/unfinished but a lot of folks seem to have one. Maybe I should wander over and investigate.
ETA: forgot to say, hello! Lovely to see you again ♥

Date: 2018-12-07 08:59 pm (UTC)I think Pillowfort's combination of threaded comments and reblogging could make for a good combo. But we'll have to see how it shakes out. There's some minor quibbles I have with it, but it seems......fine?
But I liked Google+ so who cares what I think?

Date: 2018-12-08 05:01 am (UTC)I just went and had a look at the FAQ, it certainly seems interesting and the ability to have total control over your posts seems pretty great (eg. editing or deleting a post also edits/deletes all reblogs, etc) & comments from the beginning is good too. I might see how it all settles down before I spend money, I'm a little cautious about new sites now!
I never hated G+, I just never managed to get into it. I know for a lot of people it was a great site. I was sorry to hear it got shut down.
