I'm Back! (see what I did there?)
Jul. 27th, 2009 07:59 pmNow, I don't approve of drug use in general, but OMG steroids are ossim.
Today was finally my doctor's appointment. Well, not my doctor, but the nurse practitioner because the doctor is on vacation. The practitioner was incredible. She actually listened to me, tested my range of motion, and had X-Rays done up. She dismissed most of the meds that the hospital gave me as a bandaid, not helping heal me, but just masking the pain so I could function. Only the muscle relaxants met her approval. Instead she gave me a shot and a prescription for a steroid, and set me up with an appointment for a physical therapist and a deep massage.
I've had two doses now, and I can't believe how much better I feel. I was able to pick up the knitting needles I dropped on the floor and get out of a chair without grabbing the armrests.
I want to switch to this woman for my primary care. She is incredible and I thought SO much better than my regular doctor.
