So m_steelgrave and I were squeeing over the New Star Trek, and I promised that if she recced good fic, I would do the same. Well, she's recced fic twice now, so I had better live up to my end of the bargain. Most of the fic here is specific to the new movie, so duh, spoilers ahead. Some deals with things that are from the TOS canon, so fair warning there too. Mostly I like gen-happy-crew-centric fic, but, like Stargate, most of the really good writers are hanging out in the slash end of the pool, so I roll with it.

Pretty much the gold standard of Nu!Trek, it's already up to about 500 delicious bookmarks. Chekov had gotten himself into trouble. Kirk has to actually act like an authority figure...sort of.

Her stories tend to the Hurt/Comfort, and sometimes have Kirk's abusive!stepdad. My favorites are probably Comforting Each Other With Apples and Five Times Jim Kirk Turned Down Propositions and Once When He Didn't.

EXCELLENT. I keep thinking I'm going to get tired of reading these things, but noooooo, the hunger will not be sated. It's probably a good thing I'm not online much these days, or I'd just sit around and read about Chekov being cute and Bones being loveably grumpy and Kirk being a man-hooker with a heart of gold...and the Captain's Chair. And then I'd REALLY never get this artwork done for bigbang.
