I hope so! It's really super fluffy. But it probably won't actually be my winter scarf. Once I learn how to purl I want to make a basketweave scarf. This weekend I'm going to go to a couple of honest-to-god knitting stores and get supplies, brighter colors n stuff.

This is part of my evil plan so we can all be old ladies at the home together. You knit, so I had to follow in your footsteps.

What an awesome first attempt! You're going to kick butt even harder as you get better and better. ♥

Thank you! I'm pretty pleased with it.

I want to get good so I can make myself sweaters. I have such short arms that all long sleeves are a good 5 inches too long on me. The idea of having sweaters with the right length sleeve is so ossim.

Thank you! Youtube is great for so many things. I couldn't figure out what to do from the diagrams in any of the books I looked at. But watching someone do it, slowly, and with the right camera angle, made it a lot easier. (Even if I did watch the video for probably an hour, watching, rewinding, pausing, going back a bit. Youtube needs to have a slow motion button!)

no! no it looks warm and toasty! LOL.

It uses 2 different yarns at once. At first I thought that the book was insane to make you do that for your first project. But looking back I think using two at once helps with any tension and gage issues, since it ends up being so fluffy.

That is truely a fabulous scarf.

I can not wait until you start knitting fabulous hats. You and and Knitting and Hats = OT3.

I'm not so sure about hats. Knitted hats are the kind of hat that I absolutely do not look good in.

Though I think it IS mandatory for every geek knitter to make a Jayne hat during their career.

Don't forget you're also required to knit the Hogswart Scarf of your choice.

True except...I can't decide what to be. There really need to be more choices.

Gryffindor is too mainstream, and I don't think I'd qualify.
Slytherin is too much of that 'I'm too cool to like the popular thing' thing.
Ravenclaw is close to the Slytherin thing, but only more so, and with a slice of snobbery.
Hufflepuff....I just don't like the colors.
