End of an Era

[kaitou]

My website, Kaitou.net is no more. I stopped using the web-based e-mail that my provider, er, provided because of all the spam, and I apparently forgot to switch over the administrative stuff for my account while I was at it. I haven't lost anything, anything that was on the site is also on my harddrive, and backed up on dvd-rom. But I still find the whole situation incredibly sad.

Sad because I hadn't even updated the main site in over a year. Who knows how long the site has been gone, and I didn't even notice? And for a long time it was my favorite hobby, and I was really active with it. I was looking over some of my old journal layouts, back when Takyoaki Journals was still on Blogger, and it was fun to see my old Iron Chef Sakai layout, my CSI Layout.... Then there were all the manga translations I did, and ALLLL of the Card Captor Sakura crap. Fanart and Fanfic, original fic, wallpapers and winamp screens. Even my aborted attempt at a webcomic. Talk about a walk down memory lane.

Why don't I do stuff like this anymore? I never stopped enjoying it.

I guess now it's time to decide whether to get a new webspace or not.

well you're welcome to a subnet on my account, god knows I don't use a 10th of it. Flidget's graphics hosting accounts for all of my absolutely minute bandwidth and she can vouch for the fact that I am practically an absentee landlord (how many years of rent does she owe me now?)

Anyway if you still own the domain registration you could be up and running in no time. Yeay!

I miss college so much for that. Not only the benefit of having you and everyone else around, but the classes and the constant input of information, and being in an environment where a majority of the people were working in some academic, thoughtful regard.

Until I start my company, recruit you all and then take over the world with my flying monkey army (space laser panzer division), I don't have much advice.

I'm sadly not kidding about that last part. If I have to work in normal world for many more years, I think I'm going to go utterly mad. Right now I've got Underpants Gnomes level of planning, but Step 3 is going to be awesome.

Last night I found all of the layouts we did for the 'The Great Conjuction' group blog. We really came up with some awesome stuff. Remember how we'd do a month just putting all kinds of random layouts up as fast as we could?
