kaitouHello, hello, back on the internet again. Figured out the setup on my own, no less, quite proud of that. Now just rebuilding my software and downloads. Got Trillian and the Google toolbar, next up an FTP client, and Divx so I can watch the lovely Princess Tutu CD's Ian sent. Thank you Ian!
Last night was the New Years drinking party for the Junior High School teachers. This came 2 weeks after the End of the Year Drinking Party. First everyone got drunk, and then everyone named their New Years Resolutions, with the intent that all the other teachers should help them meet it. I think some people shouldn't have been drunk for that. I can't imagine the shy Science teacher announcing that he's been surfing singles websites with the intent of finding a bride. The Principal decided that he wanted us all to put on a live show (he's also a jazz musician) before he retires in April.
Everyone agreed and started saying who should do what. I joked that I'd play the spoons, since I have no musical ability. All the teachers decided that sounded interesting, and before you could say "What the...No! I was kidding!" they sent for two big curry spoons for me to demonstrate with. And they must have been VERY drunk, because playing the spoons was a big hit.
Then the first party broke up, and the younger teachers moved on to the second round. And now I have finally found a bar in Masuda that will make a White Russian if I ask for it. You wouldn't believe the trouble it is to persuade some bartenders to put vodka in the 'kaluha milk.'
I didn't get home until late, which seemed fine at the time, but Friday morning (or, later Friday morning I should say) I definatley had issues with Japan and their weekday drinking schedules. Lucky for me I didn't have any morning classes!
