Hey all! Things are going well down in Ohio-land. Sorry I've been uncommunicative. I'm still trying to find my rhythm with the new job. You know, showering in the morning, showering at night, making lunch before bed, accidentally shutting off the alarm clock...just seeing what works best.

My new job is kind of fun so far. I'm measuring and checking the different parts made at the company. So I measure all kinds of arcane things off of a piece (from the center of one hole to the top of one side, minus the half of the other hole plus...) with digital calipers and height gagues and things. Then I get to stress test some stuff. It's no crashing cars into a wall, but popping off rivets and peeling off welds is kind of satisfying. Especially the welds part, because I finally got it right today. All by myself even. And of course, I'm translating for the boss when he doesn't know the english and adding words like 'inventory, countermeasure and no-good parts' to my vocabulary. Once I've learned how to do all these things, I'll be transfered up to the office and work different hours. There I'll be writing up reports and things. But I'm having fun with the hands on stuff. I even went out and bought a pair of spiffy steel toed shoes that look like nice dressy shoes.

The apartment is nice. And I'm feeling satisfied just being here in a way that I wasn't in Japan. Maybe because I rented it and decorated it myself. It feels good just to be here. And so far I've been doing good on my mission to eat actual meals instead of instant stuff because I'm on my own. This week I did spaggetti and chicken pot pie.

The sad news is that I can't do my Christmas cards like I planned. There are three factors. 1. I just moved, and the moving and settling in time cut into my card making time. 2. I just moved and have only my meager supplies to play with, instead of all Mom's cool stamping stuff. and 3. There was an accident and the cards that I did have made were destroyed, watersoaked. I'm feeling lousy about this, and I'll try and make it up those who asked for cards.

It's good to hear that you've settled in, and that you've been enjoying it all so far. That's awesome. >^_^

Oh no!

poor you. Well do what ever you are able to and don't stress. That's it, I'm stuffing your card with extra stickers to cheer you up.

Yes, I am a cheap bastard who is sending stickers to people for fun.
I'll get you a better housewarming present later. I swear.
