Japanese babble
Apr. 6th, 2005 12:36 pmThis is really interesting to only maybe Denise and Mellisa. Probably not even then.
My boss and I have arguments over the kind of Japanese accent I'm allowed to have. I'm thankful he's a casual sort of guy so I'm allowed to speak plain form, but Dude, not all slang is from Nagoya! If I say something like "shiran" he picks on me for speaking Nagoya-ben. We say "shiran" in Shimane too! I so want to start using real Masuda-ben on him. Start saying "Atsui ke ne," and 'nchai' instead of 'nasai' and "shanai?" Of course, I never got real clear on what that last one actually meant.
I'm learning more technical words and kanji. But somehow I don't think my new vocabulary would help on the Proficency Test. I don't know, Denise? Did they mention arc welding and step pins on the JLPT?
And Melissa, if you read this after getting back from Hong Kong....You killed my Stargate obsession. I went out to buy the fourth season, and ended up buying the 1st season of Highlander instead. I doubt it would have occurded to me at all without your Methos tape.
