Memes are fun

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] aphelion_orion...

Name a character and I'll tell you four facts about them from my own personal headcanon.

(And no, I haven't forgotten anyone's fanfic from the last meme, I just need to type them up, mostly)

Some Say...

...that he translated Hamlet into English from the original Klingon.

...that he is Mr. Darcy reincarnated.

...that he can drift in a Ford Model T.

...that knit a pair of socks in less than 4 hours.

all I know is we call him The Stig

dangit, can't edit the comment so I can fix the last one to "...that he can knit a pair of socks in less than 4 hours.

Otherwise it sounds like the Model T is doing it.

Okay, I have no clue about the movie, I just know the books. Let's hear what you have to say about Watson. XD

Not a bad day...just my only Holmes-ish icon.

[identity profile] kaitou1412.livejournal.com 2010-07-15 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
1. That Watson had a child with Mary during the hiatus, but that it died as well.

2. He has a list of all the little everyday trivia that Holmes doesn't know, and he can use it to cheer himself up when he's had a bad day.

3. Scotland Yard appreciates Mr. Holmes, but they have made Dr. Watson an unofficial member, and take good care of him during the hiatus.

4. Holmes always assumed he was (reasonably) intelligent and capable...and that he didn't need coddling. That meant everything back to Watson when he was finding his footing in England again.

Aoshima-kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun~ ♥

[identity profile] kaitou1412.livejournal.com 2010-07-15 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
1. Aoshima collects and builds Gundams.
(Actually in canon he makes plastic guns, but I misunderstood Gun-Otaku in an episode, and assumed it was short for Gundam. But the idea has lodged in my head anyway)

2. He finds it a little weird having a woman for a best friend. Especially a holy terror like Sumire. But it works.

3. Aoshima kind of muddled his way through life without thinking very much of it. He was ok in school, got into an ok college, got a business degree because it seemed like the thing he ought to do rather than out of any real desire. He just assumed it would all work out. Police work is the first thing he's ever wanted in his life.

4. He owns an iron. His mother gave it to him when he moved to Tokyo. He's never used it.

Oh oh. And he TOTALLY got to go on the Helicopter. If you know what I mean.

[identity profile] soranokumo.livejournal.com 2010-07-15 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
But of course! *nudge nudge, wink wink* XD

Hee~~~

And I can kinda see all of those, really. It's just... he's... Aoshima. XD

neytiriiiiiiiiiii

[identity profile] kaitou1412.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
ooh.

1. Neytiri was always fascinated with the exotic. She spent hours pouring through the pictures on the flat square that Grace brought, looking at pictures of "cats" and "houses" and pictures of all the humans...like grace, that came in so many colors and shapes. It kept her coming back to the classes, to look at those pictures.

2. Neytiri was not naturally strong, or fast or graceful. She didn't have the eye that some of the others did for hunting. But she became just as good through hard work and practice. It made her a good teacher of the children, because she understood where the mistakes came from, knew how to explain when those with a talent could not.

3. Neytiri's favorite color is pink, and her favorite food is Kllpxiwll berries.

4. She was glad, and ashamed to be glad, when Jake became Na'vi in truth. She still loved him, as a human. But it was a little frightening to see him in the wheeled chair and a mask on his face. To know how very...fragile he was, because even then she couldn't call Jake weak. But she was glad to have his arms strong around her now, and the press of his cheek against hers with no plastic in the way.

Steve. :) History buff, GO!

[identity profile] kaitou1412.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha. You know, I snub WWII the way hipsters snub a band that becomes popular. WWI is SO where it's at, don't you know.

Anyway I dust off the best of my history nerd geekery for you.

1. Steve Rogers didn't vote in a popular election until well after he was thawed out. He was too young to vote in the 1940 election and in 1944...well, he didn't get his absentee ballot done in time. He tries not to feel guilty about it because it's not like Roosevelt didn't win ANYWAY.

2. His 5th grade teacher took his class on a field trip to the recreation of the Brownstone that Teddy Roosevelt was born in. He learned how Teddy had been asthmatic, and so sickly that he couldn't even go to school most of the time. But he worked hard and made himself strong and tough. Steve decided that he would do the same thing.

3. Steve grew up speaking Irish Gaelic at home. The law back in Ireland said you had to speak fluent Irish if you wanted certain jobs, and back then his parents still thought they'd move back. He doesn't remember much of it any more, but he still remembers most of the dirty words and insults.

4. He can't feel guilty about becoming Captain America. He's so lucky that in his case 'be careful what you wish for' didn't apply. But he felt just an uncomfortable edge of shame during the war when he saw the ways that so many people were contributing, no matter what their lives were like. From WASP pilots, to Coca Cola Colonels, to the cartoonists making the training films. Everyone's pitching in, and maybe he didn't need to become a Super Soldier just to be useful in the fight.
