Not Another Goblet (aka Two Sides of the Same Hint Coin)

“Well?”

“Well what?”

Arthur gestured at the pitchers. “Aren’t you going to solve it?”

Merlin blinked back at him. “Why should I be the one to solve it? Why can’t you solve this one?”
“I thought wizards were supposed to be good at riddles.”

“Wizards are good at spells. Does this look like a spell to you?” Merlin frowned at the pitchers. “Honestly, I’m not even sure this is a riddle. It looks more like maths to me.”

Arthur poked the nearest pitcher with his sword, but it didn’t glow, or look magical or anything. It didn’t even look very fancy. It was just a glass tube with ’16 quarts.’’ engraved on it…whatever a ‘quart’ was.

“If you can help me with this problem,” broke in the bartender, “I’ll give you a bouquet of flowers.”
Arthur rolled his eyes, “Yes, that’s exactly what we need.”

“You never know, maybe the flowers are magic.” Merlin assured him.

“Oh fine.”

The two of them studied the pitchers awhile longer. Finally Arthur turned to Merlin. “I think we’re going to need another hint coin.”
