Denied!

Our company had it's semi-annual blood drive today, but I was kicked out for anemia. The preferred range of hematocrit for women is 36.1 to 44.3, but I came in at 35. So I'm still anemic. I'm better than I was though. Last year when I went to the doctor I had a hematocrit of 22.

I still probably ought to make more of an effort to remember my iron pills though.

At least they did kick you out. I usually register as borderline anemic, and every single time they still take my blood just to make their quota.

... and then are surprised when I pass out. >P

I'd really rather prefer they did turn me away when I'm borderline.

This is true. I'm wondering if this is why I never got a donor card growing up. Maybe they just never used it in end.

Oh, and fair warning: Don't tell them you take iron supplements. I was deferred for that, even though my blood iron levels were just fine. Rat bastards.
