Yeah, the interviews I have gotten jobs out of have always gone very well, and allowed me to joke around and sometimes go off topic. I think it's what makes them remember you when they go back to decide. And if you can connect with your interviewers they may be thinking 'this is someone I could work well with, who will fit in well.'
