Take that Western Civilization

I actually wrote this up when I watched the episode last week, but I wanted to try and get all the names and dates straight, so a little bit late, but here's some more ancient cool stuff. I doubt it would surprise anyone who reads this that I am all about the Asian history, and the other night they covered, ancient Chinese tech on ( Ancient Discoveries. )

random thoughts

This article about a woman in Germany who tried to have the ashes of her dad turned into a diamond, and all I could think was....that is TOTALLY the way I want to go. For future reference, universe, I want my ashes turned into a synthetic gemstone and then set in a really tacky tiara. And my will will stipulate that it must be displayed prominently in a descendant’s house.

And then there was the aritcle about the anatomically correct chocolate jesus controversy. But I don't really understand what the problem is. You'd think the Christian community would be happy to have a chocolate jesus around to distance themselves from the Easter bunny and remind Christians what the focus of the holiday should be. Of course, maybe they're afraid that instead of starting with the ears they'll start with the....ahem.
