Twig, this one's for you.

I turned on the tv for some noise while I worked on Mom's socks...and saw Brian Boitano making candied bacon for roller derby girls.

Yes. Brian Boitano, Gold Medal winning Brian Boitano has a cooking show now, What Would Brian Boitano Make (yes, and they use that song for the theme music apparently). Where apparently he makes a series of bacon themed recipes for roller derby girls.

I swear, every time I decide I need to get rid of my cable tv, something like this pops up.

Oh dear... And I'm trying not to be appalled by the concept of "candied bacon". XD

Weren't you one of the people raving to me about bacon chocolate?

I protest - that was G-cat!

Though I do think that there's perhaps a difference in chocolate flavored with bits of bacon, and bacon that's been sugar-coated.

... ... ... (starts to wonder about candying with maple syrup....)

I don't know how he made the candied bacon. I only saw him take it out of the oven. It looked like ordinary bacon.

Now the bacon baskets made by draping bacon inside of muffin cups, and then squishing them flat with another muffin pan and baking them was actually pretty cool.

Okay... we fill those with fresh, creamy mashed potatoes, and sprinkle a little shredded cheddar on top and we'd totally have "Twig bait".
